This specifies the electric field polarization of the field. The program can run in a semi-vector mode, or in a full-vector mode.
In the semi-vector mode, the field is considered to be polarized only along one direction. The X or Y input profile, as appropriate for the selected polarization, is used to run the simulation.
Under the full-vector mode, both X and Y polarizations are considered simultaneously, which allows for cross-coupling between the two polarizations. Both the X and Y input profiles must be specified when invoking the full-vector mode.
